Have you always wanted to paint an oil portrait of yourself or someone else? Well, in this new & exclusive one week workshop I will be showing you how to achieve this in the teaching of the old masters.

Portrait painting is arguably the most difficult of all the composition but with the right skill set of technique & patience I will guide you through an enjoyable process to achieve a believable portrait painting of your choice. Throughout the week students will learn about all the materials required and how to use them. Starting with the underpainting, the importance of ‘Value” will be discussed before we move unto the layering colour method. Strong emphasis with be shown to colour theory and brush work & students will see that with a very limited palette we can achieve a vast range of skin tones.

Students will be contacted a month prior to workshop & asked to send through their chosen image(s) so feedback can be given on preparation prior to class.

Like all my classes/workshop, this is open to both beginners & improvers.
