Oil Portrait – The Girl & Her Duck – 36 Hour Course
Portrait painting can be difficult, but painting a full portrait in an environment takes time and effort. The trick to overcome this challenge is to keep it simple from the start & work your way through each of the processes.
In this 36-hour course, you will be walked through how to complete a full-length portrait of this little girl while placing her in a background; so, you’ll be painting a landscape as well! Primarily using techniques from the Italian Renaissance & old masters, you will be working from a master copy and progressing to the underpainting.
Throughout the process, you will learn the importance of working with a limited palette, learn how to premix colours as well as building layers for the more complex skin tones and be introduced to glazing before adding the final touches.
Once you’ve completed this course, and with practice, you will have the confidence & technique to tackle your very own full length scenic portraits.
Like all my classes/workshop, this is open to both beginners & improvers.
